Bhakshak – Plot
Bhakshak is a crime drama based on the true story of the Muzaffarpur shelter home case of 2018. It follows the journey of Vaishali Singh (Bhumi Pednekar), a fearless journalist who exposes the horrific crimes committed by Bansi Sahu (Aditya Srivastava), a powerful politician who runs a shelter home for orphan girls. Vaishali faces many challenges and threats as she tries to bring justice to the victims and fight the corrupt system.
Bhakshak – Summary
The movie begins with Vaishali receiving a social audit report from an informer that reveals the shocking truth about the shelter home. She decides to investigate the matter and finds a cook who used to work there. The cook tells her about the atrocities that Bansi and his men inflicted on the girls, such as rape, torture, and murder. Vaishali also meets a lawyer who files a public interest petition in the court against Bansi. However, she soon realizes that the police and the judiciary are also under Bansi’s influence and that she has to face many obstacles and dangers to expose him. She also has to deal with the pressure from her family, who fear for her safety. Despite all the odds, Vaishali does not give up and continues to pursue the truth with the help of her cameraman Bhaskar (Sanjay Mishra) and a lady supercop (Sai Tamhankar). The movie ends with a court verdict that convicts Bansi and his accomplices and frees the girls from the shelter home.
